The names for successfull applicants for the third batch will be released by HESLB on 3th November 2018.

International Student Essay Contest, 2018: Is it Important to Live in a Democracy?

Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs announces its tenth annual International Essay Contest, open to students of all nationalities anywhere in the world.

ESSAY TOPIC: Is it important to live in a democracy?

The essay should include a definition/explanation of the concept of democracy (written in your own words) and then explain why democracy is or is not important.

CONTEST REQUIREMENTS:

  • Style: Op-ed style (not academic, footnoted papers)
  • Length: 1,000 to 1,500 words
  • Format: Blog post on www.globalethicsnetwork.org. English language entries only.
  • Limit: One entry per person.

Before submitting your essay, please review these plagiarism guidelines to ensure that your work is original and properly cited. All essays will be screened using plagiarism-detecting software.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

All students, from high school students through graduate students, are eligible. Non-students are automatically disqualified.

Previous winners and honorable mentions are not eligible.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. Join the free Global Ethics Network (GEN) website: www.globalethicsnetwork.org.

2. Post your essay in the blog section and tag it with #essaycontest2018.

3. Please include the following:

* Your full name.

* The name of your school.

* Indicate what level of student you are (high school, undergraduate, graduate).

COMPETITION DEADLINE: December 31, 2018

PRIZES:

The essays are judged in three categories: graduate students; undergraduate students; and high school students.

1st prize: $300 Amazon Gift Certificate

2nd prize: $150 Amazon Gift Certificate

Winners of 2018 leadership Essay competition-UONGOZI.

The winners of Uongozi essay competition have been announced:

Overall winner: Victor Ayal Ndede- Kenya.

2nd winner: Justinean lambert -Tanzania

3rd winner: Hope Katanu mutie -Kenya.

The esssay heading was:

“If you were an African leader how would you finance development and transformation?”

Over 2,000 essays from 36 African countries were received and rigorously evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Originality, creativity, critical thinking (10 points)
  • Structure, organization/logical flow (3 points)
  • Content addressing the question above (7 points)

INVITATION TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION INTO THE DOCTOR OF MEDICINE DEGREE PROGRAMME FOR FIRST YEARS AND SECOND YEARS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2018/2019

The University of Dar es Salaam is pleased to announce that it has obtained full
accreditation from the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) to offer the Doctor of
Medicine degree at its UDSM – Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences
(MCHAS) located at Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital in Mbeya City.
By this announcement, applications are now open to qualified candidates from Tanzania,
the East and Southern African region and beyond, who wish to join the first year or to
transfer credits from another University to the second year of the Doctor of Medicine of
UDSM in the academic year 2018/2019 at the above named college

The University of Dodoma (UDOM) wishes to inform the general public that the
processes involved in the admission of applicants into different study programmes
offered by the University for the 2018/2019 Academic year in the first, second and third
round have been completed. A list of successful applicants is attached. The successful
applicants are informed that the joining instructions can be accessed and downloaded
